October 13, 2026
HONOLULU — The Hawaiʻi State Department of Health (DOH) Food Safety Branch (FSB) has authorized the reopening of Golden Coin Bake Shop, located at 1814 Colburn St., following a temporary closure for multiple food safety violations.
The establishment was issued a red placard on Oct. 7 and immediately closed. During a follow-up inspection on Oct. 12, inspectors confirmed that all critical violations had been corrected.
The follow-up inspection confirmed that:
- Time and temperature control for safety (TCS) foods were held at 41 degrees Fahrenheit or below.
- Food packages were in good condition to protect their contents from potential contamination.
- Food-contact equipment was being cleaned at the required frequency.
- Hot water was available at temperatures above 110 degrees Fahrenheit for proper ware washing.
The DOH Food Safety Branch protects and promotes the health of Hawaiʻi residents and visitors through education and regulation of food establishments statewide. The branch conducts routine health inspections of establishments where food is prepared, manufactured, distributed or sold.
